Nothing Phone 2a Render Leaks, Revealing Design Details

Nothing, the UK startup led by Carl Pei, is gearing up to launch the Nothing Phone 2a in India soon. Ahead of its official release, a leaked render of the handset has surfaced online, providing insights into its design. The render suggests that the Nothing Phone 2a could feature a revamped back panel, possibly omitting the Glyph Interface seen in previous models.

Traditionally, Nothing’s Phone 1 and Phone 2 smartphones boasted a customizable Glyph Interface on the rear, featuring an LED-filled array that illuminated during calls and notifications. However, the leaked render of the Nothing Phone 2a, shared by tipster Steve H. McFly in collaboration with Smartprix, showcases a redesigned rear panel in white, devoid of the Glyph interface. Notably, this would mark the first instance of a Nothing smartphone without this signature feature, although the render does reveal a transparent rear panel.

Additionally, the Nothing Phone 2a appears to sport a distinct camera layout compared to its predecessors. Two camera lenses are vertically aligned in the top-left corner, with Nothing branding and regulatory icons positioned along the bottom line. These design elements could set the Phone 2a apart from the Nothing Phone 1 and Phone 2 models.

Expected to debut during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 later this month, the Nothing Phone 2a, codenamed Aerodactyl, is anticipated to be a mid-range offering. It is confirmed to be available on Flipkart in India and is poised to incorporate some features from last year’s Nothing Phone 2, promising an enhanced user experience over the Phone 1.

Recent leaks have shed light on several key features of the Nothing Phone 2a. It is speculated to run on Android 13, feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. The rear camera setup is rumored to include a 50-megapixel Samsung GN9 sensor and a 50-megapixel JN1 camera, while the front camera could sport a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor. The phone is expected to be offered in black and white color options.
