Samsung Galaxy Ring Confirmed for Second Half of 2024 Launch

Samsung teased the upcoming Galaxy Ring during its Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17, coinciding with the unveiling of the Galaxy S24 series smartphones. Positioned as a health and fitness tracker integrated with the Samsung Health suite, the Galaxy Ring’s detailed specifications were not disclosed by the company at the event. However, subsequent leaks and reports have provided insights into its features and design. Now, a senior Samsung executive has officially confirmed the launch timeline for the Galaxy Ring.

Daniel Seung Lee, a prominent figure at Samsung, revealed through a LinkedIn post that the highly-anticipated Galaxy Ring is scheduled for release in the second half of 2024. While Lee refrained from sharing additional details or specifying an exact date, his confirmation aligns with earlier speculations regarding the smart wearable’s debut alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 later this year.

Recent developments, such as the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy Ring within the Good Lock app under the battery widgets section, have further fueled anticipation for its imminent launch. Reports suggest that the smart ring will debut as a “lightweight” wearable available in three color options and various sizes, accommodating up to size 13 (22.2mm). Additionally, it is anticipated to support pogo pin charging for convenient power replenishment.

Samsung has previously positioned the Galaxy Ring as a “powerful and accessible health and wellness device.” Teaser images have depicted a smooth, round design adorned with multiple sensors positioned on the underside to facilitate health and fitness tracking.

Leaked information has hinted at the inclusion of advanced health monitoring features such as electrocardiogram (ECG), photoplethysmography (PPG), or atrial fibrillation (AFib) sensors. The Galaxy Ring is also expected to offer continuous tracking of heart rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), and sleep patterns. Users can anticipate seamless integration of all health, fitness, and sleep data with the Samsung Health suite, enabling comprehensive monitoring and analysis.
