Samsung recently introduced the rugged Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 with a removable battery to global markets, and now it’s officially available in India. The handset comes in two editions: Standard and Enterprise, catering to different user needs. Featuring IP68 certification for dust and water resistance and MIL-STD-810H durability, the Galaxy XCover 7 is designed to withstand harsh environments.
The Galaxy XCover 7 sports a single 50-megapixel rear camera and is powered by a 4,050mAh battery, making it Samsung’s first enterprise-focused smartphone. Additionally, Samsung offers a 12-month Knox Suite subscription with the Galaxy XCover 7 Enterprise Edition.
In terms of specifications, the dual SIM Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 runs on Android 14 out of the box, boasting a 6.6-inch full-HD TFT display with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The display features a 60Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio, with a water drop-style notch housing the selfie camera.
Under the hood, the device is equipped with an octa-core 6nm processor paired with 6GB of RAM. While Samsung has not specified the chipset model, it is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 SoC. The phone offers 128GB of onboard storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C port with Pogo pin. It also features GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The device is equipped with various sensors such as an accelerometer, proximity sensor, geomagnetic sensor, light sensor, and gyro sensor. It also offers face recognition for authentication and an XCover Key that can be customized for different tasks.
Moreover, the Galaxy XCover 7 is certified with MIL-STD-810H for protection against drops and bumps. It can withstand drops of up to 1.5 meters and submersion in fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Measuring 169.0 x 80.1 x 10.2mm and weighing around 240 grams, the device is designed to be rugged and durable for demanding environments.
