Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Showcased in PlayStation’s State of Play Event

Square Enix’s highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth took center stage in PlayStation’s latest State of Play showcase, offering fans an in-depth look at the upcoming title. During the event, Square Enix revealed that a playable demo for the game would be available on Wednesday exclusively for the PS5. The demo, currently downloadable from the PlayStation Store, grants players the opportunity to control both the iconic protagonist Cloud Strife and the formidable antagonist Sephiroth in an early segment of the game.

Accompanying the demo announcement, Square Enix treated fans to an 11-minute gameplay preview, unveiling various aspects of the action RPG. The footage showcased the expansive world map, diverse modes of traversal, engaging minigames, and much more.

Sony’s second State of Play showcase of the year was entirely dedicated to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The event commenced with the premiere of a captivating story trailer, offering glimpses of intense confrontations between Cloud, Sephiroth, and other pivotal characters. The trailer also provided a glimpse into the game’s dynamic combat system and showcased breathtaking environments.

Following the trailer, viewers were treated to an in-depth gameplay demonstration. The showcase delved into the vast world map, featuring bustling cities, towering mountains, lush grasslands, and more. The presentation highlighted various means of traversal, including vehicles, mounts, and the beloved Chocobos. Additionally, the gameplay segment unveiled an array of quests and minigames, including the intriguing card game, Queen’s Blood. Detailed visuals and lifelike facial animations were also showcased, enriching the narrative experience.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will offer players the choice between performance mode, prioritizing framerate, and graphics mode, emphasizing 4K resolution. Square Enix revealed that the demo will focus on a flashback centered around the Nibelheim incident, allowing players to experience pivotal events preceding the main storyline.

Furthermore, Square Enix announced plans to release an update before the game’s official launch later this month. This update will introduce the Junun region to the demo, enabling players to explore the area freely and delve deeper into the game’s immersive world.
