Xiaomi 14 Series Global Launch Set for February 25

Xiaomi’s much-anticipated 14 series, which made its debut in China in October 2023 featuring the new HyperOS user interface, is now gearing up for a global launch. The company’s CEO, Lei Jun, took to X to confirm that the Xiaomi 14 series will be unveiled globally on February 25, just ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, slated between February 26 and February 29. Alongside the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, the Ultra model, previously rumored to be the flagship handset, is expected to make its global debut around this time.

The purported Xiaomi 14 Ultra has recently surfaced on Geekbench with the model number 24030PN60G. Speculations suggest it will boast a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC coupled with an Adreno 750 GPU and up to 16GB of RAM. Running on Android 14-based HyperOS, the device is likely to sport a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED 120Hz display, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a quad rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 primary sensor. Moreover, Xiaomi may equip it with a 5,180mAh battery supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.

As for the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, the global variants are expected to mirror their Chinese counterparts’ specifications. In China, the Pro model boasts a 6.73-inch 2K LTPO screen, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 onboard storage. The base model features a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED 1.5K display. The Pro version is powered by a 4,880mAh battery with 120W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W wireless reverse charging support, while the base model packs a 4,610mAh battery with 90W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W wireless reverse charging support.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi 14 Pro sports a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel telephoto shooter, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front, it houses a 32-megapixel sensor. The Xiaomi 14 shares similar camera specifications. Pricing in China starts at CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 56,500) for the Pro model and CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 50,000) for the base model.
